Default Fun Song: Street of Dreams

I was listening to the Bradford and Ellis Marsalis CD "Standards Volume 3" and there's a great tune called "Street of Dreams" on it which I haven't heard before. I tracked it down in The Real Book Vol 3 and have been having a lot of fun playing it.

What a fun little tune. On the CD they start out very rubato for one chorus and then switch to a bouncy swing tempo. I found this Grant Green version on Youtube:

I brought the lead sheet to our Thursday lunchtime jam* at work yesterday so I could play it with another guitar player and bass player. We had a blast.

*Yes, we have a lunch time jam every Thursday. How cool is that?

If memory serves, Jim Hall recorded this on a duo album with pianist George Shearing some years ago; worth checking out.

Default Street of Dreams

I like this tune and often use it for a warm-up at my band rehearsals.

The Db in the last line tend to throw me off though. The last line is

F7 | Db7 | Fm7 Bb7 | E6/9

It's always interesting to find a solo line which works there. I tend to follow the tune's melody pretty closely at that point.
