Default Books on Intros/Outros

I'm thinking about getting one of those:

Jazz Intros & Endings With W/CD Mel Bay's Private Lessons: Amazon.co.uk: Ron Eschete: Books

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

anyone has one or even better both?

other recommendations are welcome

I've got both of them. The one by Jim Ferguson really does it for me. I use several of the intros from it. The one by R Eschete I haven't visited for a while but as I recall it has lots of cool intros and endings as well but generally speaking they are challenging to play. Whereas the Jim Ferguson encompasses everything - simple to challenging, some theory and just some great intros and endings including Joe Pass's Satin Doll intro for instance. One of the books I always refer back to from time to time.

Modern as far as the quality of the intros and outros? I'm not sure. I imagine you could build off of the ideas which are in both if you need to hear more dissonance or rythmic complexity or something. The Jim Ferguson book covers all the bases including artificial harmonics, latin stuff, single note flourishes etc..

Also, Robert Conti has a dvd/book titled "Intros, Endings and Turnarounds" that's nice.
