Default Mike DiLiddo's Guitar Voicings from Jamey Aebersold Volume 54 Maiden Voyage

So I finally found this book in a local shop and snatched it up! It's great so far. Most of the tunes are new to me, however a couple are tunes that I've already been working with for a while, so it is neat so see how my comping on those ones compares to Mike's. The CD sound quality is great, with the guitar coming through nice and clear on its own channel. The 'small jazz combo discography' is also very good. I picked up Sonny Rollins's "The Bridge" and Jim Hall's comping is very good (I prefer it over Hall's "Concierto" album).

Anybody else worked with this book?

We use the 54 serie with my band if we need to learn a song quickly.

I'm beggining the study of the sixty voicings at the end.
And it's a big help for improving my comping.

If you like "the bridge" you 'll like that.

great voicings and comping rhythms. very useful selection of tunes to know ("solar flair" is really blue bossa)...

Agreed, very nice book to have. As a compliment to this book I also recommend the Barry Galbraith comping book. I think that one is a little more sophisticated.
