Default jazz-funk-rock comping and artists

Hey,
Lately, i've wanted to improve my jazz/rock/funk comping.
i'm talking about comping rhythms and choice on voicings/colors.
The only guitarist that i know who plays like that would be scofield.
can you give me some names of players who would sound hip in that style?
Would you have links to resources on how to bring that funk/rock sound into a my playing, knowing that i have a good knowledge of the common jazz chords, and traditional jazz comping?
and some pointers to who should i listen to to get that sound into my ears.
thanks for your thoughts on this

Lee Ritenour

He plays a lot of styles, but you'll find some good funky comping if you search you tube
