Hey Everyone,
John Horne, great Ohio jazz guitarist, recently sent me a few musical examples that came to mind after he checked out my article on Jim Hall Diminished Voicings.
Here's John's article with a cool altered dominant chord scale inspired by Jim's diminished voicings.
Thanks so much for these lessons Matt. I'm going through a big Jim Hall phase right now (don't know what took me so long!) and appreciate any insights into his comping style.
Great lesson Matt. My Guitar solo's never end up being as sparse as Jim's can be (he leaves a lot of space) but I find his style interesting. His interpretation of "Round Midnight" that was posted on this forum recently was downright sublime.
