Banksia has gone out of his way to help, but I'm guessing the two linked versions are too complex for your purposes. If it's your friend's recital, your job will be to provide the support that allows your friend (and not you, necessarily) to shine.

If you're the only accompanyist, you may want to thumb some bass notes and play the harmonic (chordal) background with little to no fills. Simple is probably best, with as nice a feel and sound as you can muster.

You're saved! So, you have some rhythmic and fundamental support. You're just supplying the color. Perfect!

Do you have a chord chart or lead sheet? Have you learned the basic progression? Played with extensions and voice leading? This will be a fun gig!

What you really want to ask here is: What are the harmonically interesting bits in this piece? What are the voice leading and substitution opportunities that I may not have thought of?

Then get with your friend and listen to some examples of the feel and style that your friend wants to use. This will be cake ...
