Default Benny Goodman - Sing Sing Sing (with a swing)

Can anybody help me out with the chord changes for this tune? I have been looking everywhere online for sheet music or tabs for this song. I am trying to figure out all the different parts like the horns, clarinet, etc. for guitar.

I have the opening riff down I believe but I cannot get a handle on the whole tune.

Any help is appreciated greatly. I am new to jazz and don't have a great handle on theory really.

I don't know the changes to that one off the top of my head. Bookmark this site ... The Fake Book Index

Great for tracking down books with the tune you're looking for. Sometimes libraries will have the books.

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to go the cheap(free) route though.

You can buy it online here:

Musicnotes.com: Unsupported Browser or Operating System

A different version here:

Sing, Sing, Sing (With A Swing) Sheet Music - Louis Prima; Benny Goodman - 110721 | FreeHandMusic.com

I seem to remember it being pretty simple. It's mainly just i with some V7 (and viidim7) and the occasional bVI7 resolving to V7. I don't remember much else. There is a diminished section too, but I can't remember if that is in part I or part II.

Peace,
Kevin

I have the guitar chart from the Goodman big band transcription. It is close to 200 measures long, so good luck. Get a chart, big band changes can be subtle and this song has mostly 2 to 4 chord changes per measure.

Not a full chart, but it's at least a lead sheet that you can transpose online and it's free.

Oh yeah, forgot about that switch to relative major. But what really makes the chart are all the cool lines - that takes some transcribing.

Peace,
Kevin

Thanks that chart helps a lot. It's gonna take some time to transcribe the lines, but that is part of the fun. I'm in no rush. I transcribed all of Django's lines from Minor Swing and it was probably the best thing I ever did for my playing.

Never tackled a big band tune before....this is gonna be a challenge.

I've played this in the big band setting and if I remember correctly it is mostly comprised of an Emi6 and an F#dim chord. I might have the music let me look around.
