Help Black Orpheus Bridge

I am looking for some good chords for the bridge to the song Black Orpheus by Bonfi.

I love the way the progression goes from Dm7 to Dm/C to Bm7b5 to E7B9, then to Am to Am-7/G to FMaj7 then to Bmin7b5 to E7b9 to Amin...

I would like to get movement on the scond half of the bar that contains the FMaj7 before the new bar starting with the Bmin7b5. Any chord recommendations????

Do I need something with a C in the bass????

Thanks

jd

first thought, A7 or Fmaj7#5, any chord with "A" as a possible melody note would work fine though. I personally like BbMaj7/C or "C7sus4"

D6 also sounds nice to me.

You're talking specifically after the F and before the last ii V of Bm7b5 to E7b9, right?

Try a C6.

I also like an Fmaj7/E, which of course is just like an A minor with an E on the bottom.

You could also then go to an F6 breifly at the end between the half diminished and the E7b9.

I can also hear Tim's idea of the C7sus, but try as I may, I'm not hearing the D6 this morning...yet.

Here's a sample of last 8 bars of Black Orpheus... when I get my little camcorder, I'll start with real playing samples. Best Reg

Thanks for all the great suggestions. That's why this jazz board is the best on the internet. It really makes you think about what you are doing. I also loved the Desmond link. I love the way he plays with Hall and Bickert...

In looking at the D6 suggestion, I discovered the Abdim7 at the 4th fret and it sounded pretty good before moving to the B-7b5.

Oops. The more I play that Abdim7, the more I think I want to move it up to a Bbdim7...
