Default Comping by Ron anthony

I came across a post here a few days ago regarding Ron Anthony's book, Comping. I got the info the poster was looking for, but I couldn't re-locate the original post. So, here you go. I hope you spot this.

"Send a $30 Postal money order to Ron Anthony
514 N. Toluca Park Dr., Burbank, CA. 91505.
(for book & CD.) Driver's license number and
expiration date is appreciated. (Until I get a P.O.
box.) Thank you, Ron Anthony"

Thanks. I'll check, but postage to Norway could cause some difficulties....

Guitar New to Jazz Forum

I sing Sinatra songs in nursing homes using karaoke music;but, I want to use my guitar instead. I need comping/accompaniment chords for the songs I sing. Can anyone recommend resources.
Thank you,
Frank

Thank you,

Since you're from germany I found many scores at amazon i.e.

- Amazon(Frank Sinatra Sheet Music)
(you should look out for those marked with "chords" or "guitar"...)

There's also a free site with chords: Chords

But I have no experience with how 'good' those sheets are. Hope you'll find something useful. If nothing helps, all of the standarts he sang are in many of the realbooks... though those dont include his arrangements ;-)

Gruß ;-)
Michael

Thank you,

Not to sound conceited, but I pretty much transcribe all my standards myself, especially for songs like those that Frank covered, which tend to be fairly simple harmonically. I learn the songs faster and a lot more permanently this way, and I know that the changes I play are as close to the original as possible, instead of what some editor at Sher or Aebersold or Mel Bay decided.

It is more work, but I think it is worth it, and I recommend it to others - are your transcription skills decent?
