improvising over the 6th in jazz blues Hi everyone, I'm a new member as well as a beginning jazz guitar student. Recently i have been listening incessantly to jazz/blues, and notice a very hip-sounding scale quite often applied over the 6th chord (usu. a dom7#9) on the eighth measure of a jazz blues. So, for example, i hear this scale used in a G7#9 of a Jazz Blues in B flat. Anyone have ideas of what this might be? Sorry, i know more clues should be given, or musical examples. I thought maybe this might be common knowledge for experienced jazzers. thanks! |
