Default strings question for old Aria

Hi all,

I bought my first nylon string guitar last weekend. It's a 1967 Aria 559 model that recently had the saddle/bridge re-glued and new strings. Seems like a decent player with a straight neck, although I am still getting used to the high action and string spacing. My question has to do with strings. I am interested in brightening the tone a little and wondered which strings might best help in that regard.

I am very well aware that much of one's tone comes from one's fingers and technique! That aside, I'm sure that some strings are brighter than others. I really know nothing about classical guitars and nylons strings, so your suggestions about gauge and brand/type are most appreciated.

I bought this mainly for quiet home practice and travel. It was a craig's list impluse buy. I couldn't find any information about it on the web, so if you know anything about this model, I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance.

Try some high tension strings (I like Savarez 520 P3's, which have a plastic wound G, but any High Tension string will help--assuming it isn't already strung up with hard tension strings)

Best way to brighten up a nyon string is to grow some nails and use good technique.
