Default Good basic link

I like Larry Coryell's version (from Visions in Blue), myself...but this site http://starglasses.net/OurLoveIsHereToStay.pdf has a nice simple cm for a foundation. Of course there are many others out there...hope this helps!

Default Larry's Version

I'm glad the lead sheet worked out for you, that guy has a nice site. I found a clip of Larry doing his version: Larry Coryell jazz guitar lessons
He has learned Gershwin at a pretty deep level. I once heard him play "Rhapsody in Blue" live, solo, on a 12-string. Incredible! Enjoy...

Here's a link to Ted Greene's arrangement, his original sheet and compilation pages that align his chord diagrams to a lead sheet. A little more advanced, but very nice. Enjoy!

That brings back memories. Ted was one of a kind. I'm indebted to his books (and to the process of 'un-learning' his diagram approach). I wish he had spent more time recording himself. When I turn students toward Chord Chemistry, they say "Nobody could ever really play like that!"

Hi JimBob,
I had a similar reaction the first time I worked on Ted Greene's Chord Chemistry. I thought that it was an interesting exercise in writing up unusable and unreachable chords. I also thought, "Sure, but nobody could ever play with all these chords." Then in 1978 while I was attending G.I.T., Ted came and gave a seminar. I was totally blown away. He was using all those chords and more in a beautiful manner. Everything was seamlessly smooth and evoked emotions and feeling that don't normally come to the surface with just the standard stock chords that are usually used. And it was very, very hip. This was a time when I was coming in regular contact with the likes of Howard Roberts, Joe DiOrio, Ron Eschette, Howard Alden, Don Mock, Tommy Tedesco...so I wasn't easily blown away.
Ted Greene really had something unique. He was a real master from which I am continually learning more and more about harmony and guitar.

By learning from his work and pointing others to it, you ensure it will live on...and he sure left us something to stretch for!
