Default Stever Heberman's Updated Melodic Minor Class

I recently got Steve's class on harmoninizing the melodic minor and it is a chord melody player's delight. Of course it's also super useful for improvising lines too. It was very well recorded and presented. The written material is very clear and easy to use.

Being in a somewhat remote area, this kind of DVD instruction on a subject that is very useful in line and chord work is just what the Dr. ordered. I'm very pleased with it. BTW, Steve isn't my brother in law. I just like it when somebody does something well.

Thanks for the info. I buy as many dvds as possible. There are no teachers here that teach jazz. The nearest one is in New Orleans, about an hour and a half drive away.

I did a quick search for the dvd and came up empty. Where did you purchase the dvd?

Thanks Dooky

I believe he is talking about Mike's Master Classes. Steve has many on that site on a very wide range of topics. He is an amazing musician and an extremely effective teacher (at least to me).

I bought Steve's Lenny Breau clinic this weekend. Great stuff. Steve is a great player, wonderful teacher, and a nice guy. Highly recommended.

Yeah, good question. You can download these things for Windows Media Player, or for ipod. I am sure there are ways to burn to dvd, but I don't know how. There has to be a program that would render a wmv file to dvd format.

I forgot to mention Mike's Masterclasses is where you can purchase and D L that vid and the other one mentioned here. Plus many more from others on other subjects. Steve's DVD was not expensive.

Just to avoid further confusion, these are not DVD's. They are downloads in either .wma or .mp4 format (Windows Media Player or Ipod). If you have an ipod, you could download it and load it directly via Itunes. That is what I do. I can then watch and listen while I am at work, on the bus, etc.

You could also possibly download them and burn them to a disc to take home. They are very large files, generally 90 minutes long. Plus you will need to account for the pdf files so you will either need to print them or burn them to a disc as well. Steve's classes come with TONS of material. Pages and pages of stuff to work through.

You could almost just take the printed material and work through that, although you would miss hearing Steve improvising chord melody arrangements which, honestly, is worth the $30.

Just wanted to try to avoid any further confusion in using terms.

good luck.
