Default Les Paul

I didn't see this any where on this forum but Les Paul died on Thursday. He was 94 years old. He was a great musician, and inventor. I am surprised that it wasn't already mentioned on this forum he was a jazz guitarist. He was most famous for his idea for a solid body electric guitar and inventing multitrack recording.

I didn't notice that. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Les was a great guitarist but personally I feel the ES-335 was a far more significant electric guitar.

And what is the ES-335 but a more pleasingly designed variation of Les' "Log"?

Very true. Some day I wouldn't mind getting an ES-335. However I would say that the Les Paul model was more significant. I can get some incredible tones from my LP studio.

Well, you can always go for a Les Paul Signature....

Default Les Paul Tribute

Jack Peterson has made a video tribute to Les Paul! Apparently, Jack was a long-time friend of Les Paul and talks about some very interesting "Les Paul history". I have only watched a couple of the videos and they were very well done by another guister master (Jack Peterson). I'm sorry, but I don't have a source for obtaining the videos yet as mine was a complementary copy. As most of you probably know, Jack is a living legend to jazz guitar education, having developed the original jazz guitar programs for both Berklee and North Texas State. I am planning to visit with him sometime soon and will find out how the videos can be obtained.
