Default Barry Galbraith Chord Melodies

Some of the Galbraith arrangements have too many notes in some of the measures. For example, Autumn in New York from the "42 Chord Melody Arrangements for Solo Guitar" available on the web has 5 beats. The measure ends with 16th notes. Should these be 32nd notes or do chord melodies often take liberties with the notation since they are played solo and one is allowed to stretch things out a bit? I don't know if these are mistakes or were intentional.

It's probably 16ths and it's meant to be rubato. Joe Pass solos are the same way.

yes.

if you actually buy the books instead of getting them off the internet, you'll see they are notated as such--rubato, free time, with general time signatures shown in parenthesis.
