Help Kenny Burrell "Downstairs" Question

Kenny Burrell _Guitar Forms_ "Downstairs" I blv the mastertake, at any rate it's the one that is 2:53 seconds long.

Somewhat of a long shot, but what is the technique, trick, whatever to playing 1:35 - 1:47, i.e. where he comes in after a brief piano solo?

He's clearly sliding into the notes/chord, and I've tried everything I can think of, but just can't even come close. Any specific ideas/suggestions?

Thanks . . ..

It's an A7 or E13#9 on a B bass if you play the four strings.
A7 = xx7989 or E13#9 = xx9989
He's just sliding in to that A7 - it sounds misleading because he's playing an A7 over an E7, so that when the song goes to A7 all he needs is to change the bass note.
