Default Pink Panther CM solo

Here's the Pink Panther in A minor. The harmonic at the end is played by taking your LH thumb off the neck and touching the first string, 7th fret harmonic while holding 4231 on A C F# G#. It's easier than you think.

Hey, what program, are you using to lay out your music? It looks really good. I'm trying to use Lilypond but it pretty much sucks for tab, and doesn't have a "jazz font".

Thanks,

Jeff

Sibelius 5. But it's overkill. You coul dget by with thier 'starter program'. 5 is just too many bell's and whistles I'll never use.

Lilypond is an open-source (and free) notational program for Windows, Mac or Linux. I've used it a lot in the past couple of years to get me by with all my school assignments. But of course these were all standard notation (Lilypond does this very well); its support for guitar tab is not the greatest, and as I'm currently finding out, buggy. This makes it less than desireable for laying out chord-melody arrangements, where it's important to specify fret positions and fingerings.

Regarding posting chord melodies, I took down all the ones I did except songs in the public domain. I can't get a clear answer on Copyright so....

I wouldn't fret ( sorry) about the copyright issue too much JohnW. For a start it's educational and this site is hardly major league for criminal activity. Even if someone did get upset, you're hardly going to be sued, more likely just asked to remove the offending material. That said, as a sculptor and musician, I'm a firm believer in copyright, but it can be taken too far.

We mustn't allow the fear of lawyers to restrict our freedom to educate and inform. Are we men or mice? (No offence to any of the many women here but the alliteration just wouldn't work the same )
