Default Contrary Motion in Chord Melody

I understand what the concept of contrary motion is but I'm having a lot of trouble applying the concept to the guitar neck. I know on the piano that one hand goes one way and the other goes the other way but on the guitar neck I'm totally confused. Does anyone here have any written music that shows how this is done? Johnny Smith has an arrangement of Little Girl Blue where he uses alot of contrary motion especially in the first part of the song. I hope someone can help me figure this thing out. Thanks in advance.

Contrary Motion is one voice moves up and one down. Joe Pass does it in Prelude to Kiss at the end. He plays D then E and C# together followed by F and C natural , then G and B. The harmony at this point is Dmi7 to G7.

The attached shows 1) this example plus. 2) contrary motion in a single line. and

3) A C chord sequence showing the top voice going up while a middle voice goes down and.....an example where the bass goes down and the melody moves up (Think 'Someone to watchover me')
