Yes that's the one. It's in one of the Mel Bay solo books. I'll get you the ISBN number

It's called Mel Bay Masters of the Plectrum Guitar. ISBN 0-7866-0267-8. amazon has it used for $20. It has 68 chord style solos from the early 20th century through the 60's.

Looks ok. One piece of advice from someone that reads notation. Watch your accidentals and the enharmoic choices. For example in bar 4, the chord is Ab mi7 and you use B natural instead of Cb which is the b3 of Ab. Yes they sound the same, but as I read this piece a little thing like that could trip me up as I have to think what it is rather than just look at it an see the Abmi7. Also, I don't know if everybody does this but generaly speaking, chromatic lines going backwards should use flats in flat keys.

A bit picky? probably but when your reading music, anything that makes it easier to read is a help and it definately helps in the analysis of the piece.

Default notation software

One site worth checking out is noteflight.com. I don't think you can create tabs, but it is great for standard notation. It is also completely free. You can create multi instrument scores, save them, share them, print them, whatever. it also plays your scores back to you using some crappy midi sound effects. But it does have two things going for it: it's free, and it works very well. check it out.

If you want McLaughlin stuff try this site:

Meeting of the Spirits - Mahavishnu John Mc Laughlin Fan Page !!!!!

Some of the stuff like the "Extrapolation" album sheets are practically unreadable photocopies of hand-written transcriptions. The guy who did those also did some good King Crimson transcripts too, if you're interested. If you can't find anything useful I could probably write out a basic "Lotus on Irish Streams".

I think this site is great ! I've recently begun working on my sight reading skills trying to get my speed up. It's pretty difficult to find alot of free scores to use. I've also been tryin to beef my jazz licks as well so I'm able to accomplish both.... So cool!

I've been trying to work out Johnny Smith's arrangement of Moonlight in Vermont for ages, but I finally a found a transcription of it that is much closer than anything I'd come up with. I don't know how to turn it into a pdf, but you can get it here in powertab:

Moonlight in Vermont Power Tab

What a beauty!
