Default Donna Lee

Anybody play this chord melody style?

I've messing around with it. Very challenging.

What tempo are you using? Are you harmonising every note?

Really slow tempo as I'm figuring it out. It would be a ballad. I certainly couldn't play it at 200bpm!

I'm balladizing it (or would that be bastardizing it?).

I am harmonizing mostly every note but not every note and working off the melody using my own chord ideas.

I suppose some chord stabs might sound nice with it. Good luck!

I do some chord stabs, but not a full chord melody. I kind of do something similar with Grand Central.

Do it as a latin tune on top of all that and post the result!

Ok, and would you like me to tap-dance at the same time?

Donna Lee has a nice melody that can be played at a moderate tempo in a chord melody.

The song has some very memorable parts. There are actually lyrics to the song. Often you hear the tune sung in scat style but there actually are lyrics.

Lyrics - Donna Lee ? NIELS-HENNING ØRSTED PEDERSEN
