Hello all,
So, I've been having a lot of fun finally playing again after many years away from the instrument (and I've been pleasantly surprised by the fact that I can get music come out of the darn thing!). Here's my most recent (very humbe!) attempt at playing some music:
YouTube - ‪I Cover the Waterfront (arr. Barry Galbraith)‬‏
Given the fact that most of my playing goes on in the wee small hours of the morning, before work, it seems unlikely that I'll every play with anyone in the foreseeable future. It occurred to me that there might be folks out there in the virtual world with whom I might interact. Does anyone know if there is an already formed "performance workshop" that exists online (I'm thinking of the sort of classes in college when performance majors would play for one another, and offer suggestions/critiques/etc.)? If not, would anyone want to do this? I'd imagine that there would be some serious technological difficulties to doing it live (say via Skype or something similar), but it could be done very easily by simply establishing a "due date" of sorts for posting videos to Youtube. Participants can then watch each other's posted videos and conversations can ensue.
Does this sound crazy? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Valete,
Brian
