Newbie! Thanks Guys

Thanks guys,

Already enjoying the tutorial sections, AND I took some advice on strings from various discussions and had my local Guitar Tech. set up my Tanglewood JZ 503 with Thomasik Infield flatwound 9's

(Most folks on this forum were reccomending 11's or 12's)

He had to dress the frets a little as 9's were a bit light in his experience, but I have Tendonitis and WOW !! - what a difference

These strings made the biggest difference of any set I've ever put on any guitar, I would honestly reccomend Thomasik particularly to anyone who needs or prefers a low tension

I now have a Jazz box to begin exploring on that easily meets or surpasses my expectations - it's like butter and at least as playable as many of the more expensive guitars I intially tried out

Lovely !!

I had no idea TI made flats in .9's. Glad that helped with your hands.

Hi ReToX. I'm from sunny Dundee! Welcome to the forums. Out of interest where are you getting your tendonitis? I may have had a similar injury in the past...

Ah . . .

First discovered it in late summer 2007 when my band 'Roost' opened for Johnny Winter at the 'Ferry' in Glasgow - seemed just like a little tweak from maybe lifting some gear or something, but it got a little worse over the last couple of years although It doesn't quite bother me so much now that I don't gig on Bass anymore

Still a bummer however, but yeah - the Thomasik 9's Flatties are the cream for me
