Default A quick intro...

My name is Phil; I live near Forfar in not so sunny Scotland. I might hesitate to call myself a Jazz guitarist my interest is mainly in solo (chord melody) style playing. I’ve been playing for a long time now, starting out with rock back when I was still in my teens.
I’ve spent the last few months arranging a couple of dozen old tunes, mostly well known songs from the 30’s and 40’s for solo guitar. Some of these are pretty much set pieces while others feature some improvisation to a greater or lesser degree. So I suppose I could maybe call myself a “jazzy” player.
I mostly play a sunburst Epiphone Emperor Regent I’ve had since the early 90’s.
Looking forward to taking a more active role on the forums, learning and sharing.
Cheers,

I grew up in Dundee and still work there. If you'd like to get together for a wee play or even just a blether feel free...
