gj,

I apologize for the way I corrected your post. The internet's an easy place to be brusque, if not rude. It's best to not to take it anything too personally. And teasing is part of the forum experience, and a lack of punctuation is still better than WRITING EVERYTHING IN CAPS WHICH IVE SEEN OFTEN ENOUGH.

Hey, don't leave.

We're all really quite harmless.

Me, It's punctuation , mispelling and dropping letters out of words that I always do.

I have the same experience but I used the private message and we found out that I was overreacting on a post. We sorted things out and I've learned not to take things too personally.
If you like it here - stay, we are all in a win-win situation if we treat each other with respect and try to keep the posts on a decent level. I agree - stay!

Here you go ginger. This should help you out. Think of it like your jazz phrases, they don't run on with no pulse do they?

Nah, don't leave the site because of a few punctilious wise-asses. I have been posting here off and on for close to a year or something, and most commentators are not jackasses about such things..

Ginger,

My one comment on this said "please don't take this personally." It looks like you did. :-( I'm sorry for that.

The fact is, though, that punctuation exists for a reason. It is to make the written word readable. Punctuation is not there to make life more difficult for the writer. By choosing not to use it, you are alienating a large percentage of those who would read what might otherwise be a fine post.

Completely different situation. I'm not here to read prose. I'm here to read information about jazz guitar.

With the anonymity of the interweb forums like this, you have to have a bit of a thicker skin. Some people aren't able to do it. The punctuation thing bugs me a bit too, but not as much as sentences without paragraph breaks. Frankly, I just don't read them.

To all who would like to be heard here, I would suggest you keep your reader in mind when typing.

DEREK im sorry my if i upset you , but i am an extremely sensative person. I have had a lot of psychological problems in my life, and am not able to cope mentally with being put down . Not everyone is able to have thick skin . I wish icould but i cant change who i am. So i will not be able to carry on posting on here . This makes me very sad. peace.

Don't leave man. This is a great spot to get valuable information and meet some good people. Punctuation should not matter. If someone does not want to read your post because of that, that is their deal. I have seen many of your post get well rounded, good replies from nice posters who have had no problem with your posting style. On the internet and blogging, I have seen people post in all kinds of ways and styles (like shortening phrases to LOL, orhavingwordsconnect, etc). It is on the reader to adapt to your style, and if they don't like they can just not read it. Much peace and love out to you gingerjazz, take care.
