Hey gingerjazz, it might not be a bad idea to PM Guitaroland as well, just in case this thread gets buried by the time he next logs in.

maybe not a bad idea for all to chime in on what they're up to!

I'm in the process of creating chord melodies to two tunes i haven't done before, the beach boys' "don't talk, put your head on my shoulder" and "bossa antigua."

I'll play. Currently working on revisiting the first chord melody arrangement I learnt back in the summer (Polka Dots & Moonbeams).

Can't believe how much better I can make it now (more inversions, walking bass, better voice leading, etc) it's amazing what a taking a year out to look at chord melody and chords can do for your playing! Highly recommend.

Hi there Gingerjazz, I just found this post. I'm trying to keep my blues band up to date and hopefully trying to add some new knowledge to my musical luggage. I really enjoy the guitar playing and are more and more going in the jazz direction.

Read my post under your "last post" too, I think we all want you around.

Keep in touch!

I'll chime in since I'm sure no one cares. I've had a band going with some guys from my church (no, it isn't cheesy praise music) and we're going to record in the next few weeks and try to start marketing the music via itunes and selling CD's on our own. My jazz influence bleeds through pretty strong on one of the songs especially, so maybe if I figure out how I'll post it up here.

Other than that I'm still teaching lessons at the music store and playing bass in a sell-out top 40's cover band. Jazz-wise to improve myself, I'm working on soloing with chords and solo arrangements in general. I'm really, really, really bad at those and it frustrates me to no end.
