As I'm sure you have all guessed, my name is not actually Phantegrodak. It was made up. Why, I have a much better "tag" I should have used! Too late now.
To be honest, I don't know a lot about jazz theory, but I'm learning what I can. It's more of a recent interest (playing, not listening. I've been listening since the day Oscar Peterson died.) Before this in my two year playing history I have gone from black metal to technical death metal to progressive rock to "classical" pieces (not to say I'm all that good though). All on the same fender left-handed acoustic guitar, by the way. =P
In the future I plan to acquire a nylon-string guitar, a Godin Fifth Avenue archtop, and a Phantom Guitarworks PH6. No big amps though. This man can't do loud.
To finish this bit off -and hopefully find some like-minded individuals-, my favorite jazz guitarists are and have been Derek Bailey, Sonny Sharrock, and James Ulmer.
If you can think of any comparable musicians, do tell me! Learning is fun. [=

Welcome aboard. That is quite a route you took to get to jazz, and all on a lefty acoustic!
