Default April in Portugal (new member)

Hi guys,

My name is Joao, from Portugal, and I just joined.
I played the guitar for 15 years (pop/rock), stopped another 15 years (due to a violin course) and resumed on Summer 2009 (Jazz!).

So I had to find this place

My guitars are a Washburn J6 (L5 type) and a very inexpensive (and amazing!) Epiphone Dot Studio. Totally love my guitars!

I'm studying right now at Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institure and Andreas Oberg Guitar Universe - so it's being quite a trip!

I'm looking forward to learn a lot of other great things around here, and have some good chat whenever possible (practice schedule is hard!)... and maybe even find some guys to play with someday?

Thanks for having me here
Joao

Welcome Joao. The JB Institute is great, and I hear good things about Andreas' site also. I have to say that Portugese has to be the most beautiful language when sung. I listen to a lot of Bossa Nova stuff, so I hear it often. What kind of jazz is being played in Portugal? Standard stuff?

Roland, thanks for the welcome! 8-)

Liponguitas, Olá, sou do Porto (I'm from Oporto) E tu?

Derek, JB and Andreas places are awsome, really. Being able to play to these two monster guitarists and receive a video reply from them is sooo cool! They're both great teachers and the fact that they reply to all in a personalized way is just amazing.
Thanks for the nice comments about my language, though the brazilian people speak/sung it in a much more mellow tone As we speak here in Portugal it can sound pretty rough! The jazz music scene has some pretty exotic stuff, but I'm still discovering it, as with everything else!
Here's something recently released:

Gingerjazz, thanks for the welcome, too!
