Newbie! The New Guy

Hey all! I stumbled across this site and it just seems perfect for me.
I'm 40 (late bloomer) and I'm just learning guitar, though I'm not new to music or music theory. I wish I had learned a long time ago as this is more fun than any instrument I've played.
I've grown up loving the standard greats: Wes Montgomery, Les Paul, Joe Pass, The Pizzarellis, Kenny Burrell, etc... and more recently, Pat Metheny, Ted Greene, and so on. I never hope to play like them, just learn to play in general and have fun with it.
I'm also another Fenderphile! So I'll go in the Tele-jazz category I suppose.
I hope not to try anyone's patience with rudimentary questions, etc, so thanks for letting me on-board!
Tim

P.S.: I don't know how to upload my signature banner onto my profile for this site so if anyone could help.... Thanks!

Tim, welcome to the group. I am from OK, and lived in the OKC area for 10+ years, playing at all the festivals, and bars like Ichiro's Samurai Sake House. My pop still lives there, so I get down ever so often.

Really?! That's awesome! Small world. My Dad studied at OCU and played all over OK before going to NY for the better part of the 50s and 60s. He played with a lot of the local names like Benny Garcia, Wayne Nichols, etc.
Most don't know what a good jazz scene and history OKC has.
Thank you for the welcome!
Tim
