Default greetings from eastern Canada!

longtime reader of the main site, I just started browsing the forum recently.

I am thinking of buying a cheapie jazz guitar soon and am here browsing the various reviews. I'm currently leaning towards Ibanez AF75 or possibly Godin 5th Ave. I'm currently working on Gypsy style but I've already got a couple of flattop acoustics at home, hence the interest in a more traditional archtop. I'm sure this little statement will result in a cascade of opinions, but I'm not soliciting reviews/responses until I've had a chance to browse some more.

Is there anyone out there in SW New Brunswick? I'm located between St. Stephen & St. George.

cheers all!

The nice thing about getting into an archtop now is that you don"t have top spend a fortune to get a nice Jazz Box. I have an Epi Dot (less than $300 used), and an Aria full hollow body L5 clone ,( less than $600 used.)

the 5th avenue is a cute little guitar, I'd pick that over any of those bottom line Ibanez guitars any day of the week for any Jazz style.

Godin makes great guitars. The setup is always well done, the intonation, the action, feel, and tone are all wonderful.

I looked at the 5th ave kingpin, but i already have a few jazz archtops.
Epihones also have a few offerings in this category.

I do use a Godin Ultra 6 for that semi accoustic sound in live playing with a 7 piece group, which I prefer over a full acoustic.
