Newbie! Greetings from Rochester, Washington state

Born in Tacoma, but getting awful tired of this rain and gray skys. Hope to move to a sunnier clime after I've finished up with my day job in 3.5 years (or less), All equipment for the moment is Texas Strat , & Valvestate 2000 Marshall , but as I climb out of debt, from my 3rd and final divorce, will aquire some good hardware/software. Also climbing out of pain pill ville, for last 5 years , been on methadone, & vicapro, (Hydrocodone & ibuprofen), for pain that I've discovered is actually from too much accumulated stress TMS/AOS,
and tapering off both opiates and hope to be finished the end of May 2010.
Hope to make some cool friends here, and learn and share ideas, techniques,
and other productive musical items. I hope to launch into guitar full time after
i can retire without penalties, but a lot can happen in 3.5 years, so we'll see.
I have played Sax in school and somehow read music back then, but nowadays mostly play by ear, and muscle memory on guitar. I've had one quarter of Jazz guitar at Evergreen State College, but other things kept me away from using that knowledge aside from using little finger, as I come from rock & blues influences, but don't want to be stuck in any one label.
ciao for now,
Robert
