Default Hi from Finland everybody!!

Thought I'd introduce myself. I've been playing since I was 13 (I turned 38 this year so it's my 25th anniversary with guitar. How cool is that!). I have been flirting with jazz almost all the time, first fusion guys like Holdsworth, Metheny, Stern and Scofield and later Wes and Benson. Looking back, I've never really got jazz, only mechanical aspects of it (what scale goes w/that chord) or things that related only to guitar playing. Last five years I been listening more and more jazz and found new love for the music and it's tradition as whole. Jimmy Bruno's DVD's and Ted Greene's books have been really helpful and provided some breakthroughs in my playing (at least I hope so).

My favorite guitar players and inspiration are Ted Greene, GB, Wes, Joe Pass and Tal Farlow. My favorite current players are Julian Lage, Anthony Wilson and Teemu Viinikainen (he's from Finland). Other than guitar players I really love Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Bill Evans, Paul Desmond and Stanley Turrentine.

I have 7-string archtop made by Bill Gagnon but I play mainly my two Tylers (Studio Elite and Mongoose special with P-90s).

Thanks for listening!!

PS. The reason I found this forum is because I was looking for European shops online that have good selection of used archtops. Any tips?

Thanks for warm welcome!

Uli: my german skills are non-existent but I tried to follow the links. I didn't find what I was looking, but there were many great guitars, though. Thanks!

Welcome to the site and welcome from Scotland. Whats your take on E.S.T and other newer nordic jazzers? Love E.S.T, a real shame, really upset me. I was looking to see them live but that will never happen. I hope to play like Sorrenson/Monk someday. O.D.R.I.P gives me such a buzz.
