Newbie! Hello from a defector...

After months of lurking and practicing on a battered £40 les paul copy a previous house mate left behind and a few month stint of trying to be charlie hunter a few years ago, I've finally got my own box and getting down to some serious guitar practice. Predominantly trying to apply everything I've learnt previously but on guitar, including some helpful information I've got from this site. This is probably much to the dismay of my girlfriend.

I've been playing electric bass for 16 years and studied jazz recently as a mature student at a uk conservatoire and even though I'd always checked out guitarists, in particular Benson, Greene, Scofield, Krantz and Martino I never really thought about learning guitar properly until the past few months.

I may even start my blog up again:
Funky Niblets

I look forward to more learning and sharing transcriptions and ideas on this site

Oh, and I found one of these beautys to help along the guitar learning:

I have an Ibanez 2355 (ES-175 copy)...1977 vintage..purchased in 1979....014" flatwounds..low action...polytone minibrute amp....

listen to the players..read transcriptions to learn what they play over the progression and compare it to what you play over the same progression...

time on the instrument..pierre
