Default Hello...new to JazzGuitar

Today my used Ibanez AF80 arrived. I have lusted after a full hollow body jazz/blues box for years. A few years ago I sold my Gibson es135 (a semi-hollow) and took a beating in the pocket book, as I had purchased it new. Swore not to make that mistake again....went shopping recently for an Epi....did not really matter the specific model...so long as it was a true hollow...well, I ran into this Ibanez AF80 on eBay earlier this month and got it for $227.00....plus 40 shipping.....too good to be true, right? Well, it is really in great condition and I'm really happy with it....even through my small crate amp....
My other guitars are: Giannini 6 string...flat top...beautiful....not the best sounding guitar.....bought new in 1974 or there abouts.....
2nd is a Francisco Navarro, made in Mexico and a really beautiful nylon string instrument....beautiful sound......surprisingly jazzy sometimes...

One of those "dead ear" guys.....but my dedication and hard work has really paid off.....guess I'm an intermediate player, with "master" time trying to improve.....but I loved every minute of the journey.

All I want to do is play like Joe.....not too much to ask.

I cannot speak (for past 21 years and I'm 66), so rhythm guitar is a monumental waste of time.....and RR & Country.....well, let's just say it's been done before, so what's the point....??

Which is why I try to play Jazz and Blues.....like Joe says: "No wrong notes, just notes played at the wrong time".....I'm just looking for the right time.

hey six....good to have you here...

alot of knowledge to be had here...just look at some past posts on a heading and see what I mean...

I play a 1977 Ibanez 2355 (Es-175) through a Polytone Mini Brute...014" flatwounds..and medium action between stings and fretboard...s smoother sound but you lose some of the percussive sound...

time on the instrument...pierre
