Newbie! New from UK

Hi - recently found the forum and am finding it extremely useful and informative. Although a guitarist for some 30 years (blues and rock), I have yet to master jazz to a technical level where my improvisation flows and comes naturally. Now having some time on my hands, I am determined to achieve this skill, but acknowledge the learning curve might be steep!!

I have a few guitars available, but plan to use primarily my Ibanez AS200 which I bought in 1982 and which has been used mainly for blues playing ever since. Will probably acquire a specific jazz amp in the near future and hope to be guided by the expert opinions on here!

Cheers ,
Griff

Hello Griff
Wellcome to this site. I have also found this site very usefull and interesting. About amps, do not bye too heavy, if you need to carry it some where it is better to be quite little & lightweight and easy to take with. In my opinion about 15 kg is max. Take tube or SS, it is the same only if you like the sounds of your amp and it gives you good cleans. Your Ibanez does all you need to, no feedback as easy than solidwood ones. Have Ibanez FA-100, -80, which is like Es-175 and itīs also working ok... Cheers juuso1

Hello Griff

I'm a newcomer to this wondrous and friendly community as well. When the opportunity swings your way, you'll have to let us know what inspired you to aspire to play jazz, knowing that you have a blues-rock foundation as a player. Many thanks :-)
