Help New and looking for all the help I can get

Hi! I am new to the Jazz Guitar Forum and I am looking for lot of input from all of you professionals. I have been playing for 50+ years but have never really tried to focus on or play Jazz. I played R&R in early years and some R&B later and then some fingerstyle, but somehow got caught in a Southern Rock time warp and do still enjoy the music of the SRV, Allman Bros, Marshall Tucker, etc... But, as many times as I have listened to Wes Montgomery, Joe Pas, and studio players like Larry Carlton and love Jazz, I always thought it was just too complicated too much theory to even go there. So here I am and I may be old but I'm willing to and believe I still can learn a thing or two. I just need someone to point me in the right direction.
Thanks. BTW, I got my username about 15 years ago because I always hold on to 5 Guitars and the rest I am either buying or selling. Currently holding on to a Les Paul Classic, Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion II, Fender American Strat, Martin HD 35 and an Epiphone PRE-775-CE. Playing through a vintage 1965 Twin Reverb, and a very early (91) Peavey Classic 50/410. Everything I have read says Roland or Polytone amps for Jazz. I'm not ready to make that commitment quite yet and may never. I'm an at home player. I know, the Twin IS a bit much but it has become family and I just can't seem to part with it.

Hey, welcome to the site. If you decide to get rid of your Twin, I'll take it off your hands for you. :-)

I think you will find a lot of jazz players who would be more than happy with a vintage Twin.

Welcome aboard. As others have mentioned, you have a fine jazz rig with the LP and Twin.
