Default Introduction

I'd like to introduce myself, as suggested to this community.
My name is Martin E. Rosenberg, and I've been playing about
a year after a long absence, having studied at Berklee in the
early to mid 70's. I'm a scholar now, and I happen to be writing
about jazz and cognition, especially during improvisation, and decided
that I better restore my "street creds" by practicing every day.
So I've been playing, taking lessons with Jimmy Ponder here in Pittsburgh
and an occasional lesson from Ken Karsh--both amazingly talented players,
and slowly getting back into it. Just now I'm starting to play out a bit,
and rehearse in a few situations. I'm enjoying myself tremendously, and
now shopping for a jazz guitar. Right now I'm playing a 1990 Taylor 812C
with an added pickup through a Fender Acoustisonic, and it doesn't quite cut through a full drum set and horns, so I've been shopping around in the 1-4000 dollar range: anything from ES 175 knockoffs to Sadowsky and Benedetto.

I would appreciate any advice from the membership.

Best wishes......mer

Wow. Wish I could take lessons from Jimmy Ponder. A really under-appreciated guy.
