| | Bluegrass/Cajun Musician entering the electric blues/jazz/rock phase! I have been playing serious acoustic guitar/banjo/diatonic accordion for 40 years (folk/bluegrass/old time/cajun) but have always harbored a guilty pleasure for the electric world. I'm looking forward learning from you guys.
I've already had fun with the 12 bar blues in the beginners forum. |

| | I am located in Dallas, TX.
I thought I put this in my profile and assumed it would be listed next to my posting. I'll recheck to make sure I did it correctly.
For anyone I have confused. To elaborate on my cryptic reference. The 12 bar blues is in a posting by Sailor in the Getting Started thread entitled "Sailors new teacher". I've had a lot of fun with it. (OKOK I know, I need to get out more.) |

I would imagine there are other cool places like Charley's but that's the only one I know since it's in my neck of the woods (6.3MM people cover a lot of space). Hey, SRV hung out at Charley's. Their on-site luthier did wonders for my '65 Guild 12 string. Lots of vintage stuff, etc. Well, anyway, that's my 2 cents. Hope you can check it out.
Let me know if you find any other hidden gems during your stay. |

Lyle Mays is playing with the One O'clock Lab Band at UNT in Denton (just north of Dallas) next Thursday night the 25th. I'm sure it's going to be amazing. |

BTW. He plays instruments made by his also famous cousin Mark Savoy.
But I digress...time to get back to my 12 bar blues. |
