Check This Out! Hey everyone..!

New to the forum, have run across the site a couple times searching for things and decided to join the forum. Been playing guitar since I'm 16 and I'm 44. Been soloing through diatonic changes and have been a rock player all my playing life. Have been listening to Jazz since I'm a little kid (mom listened to jazz and big band).

And quite frankly, I've always found jazz guitar to be a little on the white side in that I've never really gotten fired up about Jazz guitar players and therefore never really ventured where I should have.

I am now practicing and studying again and I can't stand to listen to my own playing because of it's adolescence and now that I can appreciate the players I'm trying to play more Jazz hence here I am.

My ear naturally hears and listens for a maj or min 3rd and 7th or a raised 4th when ripping through modal/pop music or rock and it's easy to find at least something to say but my ear and my head are having a little trouble thinking like a jazz guitarist might or even some other instrumentation.

That is why I'm here and why I'm studying and practicing like I'm in my 20's again.

Thanks for reading and thanks for having me.
Keith
