Default What's Up

Just wanted to say hello. I am actually a worship musician looking to expand my musical knowledge. I play 3 times a week in front of 200 - 800 people. We do a mix of contemporary rock styles and some lighter fare. I do mostly modal soloing which is why I am looking to jazz to spice up my solos and approach to chords.

I do the same, but once per week. What had me go to jazz several years ago was playing in cantatas and such, and needing to read orchestral type charts. I didn't read very well, and was unfamiliar with many of the chords. I knew that jazz studies would get me the knowledge and skills I needed.

Welcome to the group.
