| | just me Hi all,
please allow me to introduce myself:
I started with music as a child learning to play flute and trombone later
on, but switched to guitar later on, when I realized that girls liked guitar playing on the beach parties much more, than me playing trombone.
I played in a few bands, first pop music and came to jazz, when playing
in a jazz quintet some years ago. I had a long break, which I used to play
and learn for myself, but recently got involved in a jazz/fusion band again.
There's a lot new to learn for me, so I'm currently looking around for information to color my playing a bit. The target is to combine populars
with jazz.
Recently I orient myself to the early bebop playing of Wes Montgomery,
the late Larry Carlton and the recent recordings of Lee Ritenour, who
is my favourite.
Looking forward to interesting discussions and with best regards,
Martin |

| | ok, well no plan for my band either... kind of beginners in jazz, even if we've all been playing music for years. So far we're trying to build a repertoire, work on improv and band communication, this kind of stuff. A lot of fun, but objectively not really enjoyable for an audiance at this stage
I live in Zurich btw.
Cheers, fab |

| | Seems we are in a similar situation. We're currently also building a repertoire by arranging our own ideas.
Zürich is not that far away from me and sometimes I'm there for business. So we could meet drinking coffee and exchange experiences, if you like.
I'll send a private message, if i know when I will be in Zürich again.
Regards,
Martin |
