Hello,
I thought it was time to finally introduce myself. I'm 37, live in Portland, OR and have been noodling on the guitar for years. I did a little comping in a jazz band in college, but I've finally decided to learn jazz for real. I have found myself a good teacher, and for the past 4-5 months have been working on my drop 2 voicings and arpeggios for maj7, dom7, min7b5, and now finally dim7. It's a lot of hard work, but it's coming together little by little and some music is starting to come out of my fingers. I've so far been working on two tunes: Tune Up and Autumn Leaves.

Guitars: 86 Gibson es-335
Ibanez artcore AF-85
I'm trying to resist the urge for a better archtop (its' too early in the learning process I keep telling myself.....Please resist!)

Amps: 66 Fender DR
74 Champ

This site is a great resource and has helped me out a lot so far. I hope to learn a lot more.

Thanks a bunch,
Darin
