Newbie! Intro

Hi people,

Just to introduce myself - My name is David Holland and I'm an oldie who has decided for 2010 to learn to read music and begin to play jazz guitar.

I already have a beat-up old classical no-name, which has allowed me to lean a couple of chords/toughen up and stretch my fingers somewhat - I'm now shopping for an archtop .

The plan is to buy the best 2nd-hand I can for £700 or so. Due to visit my first guitar shop today. I'll also be looking at Peerless, Epiphone, Ibanez and Godin guitars - excited? Yes I am!

Thanks for a great forum BTW.

Question - are you all always so well-behaved ?

Cheers,

Davidh

Hi David, welcome to the group. I have been posting for a few years, and only one member has been banned in that time that I know of. Most of us are either geezers or in the pregeezer stage, and mostly well behaved.

The friendly nature and willingness to share knowledge, make this group one of the best on the net.

Hi Derek,

Thats how it seemed to me. I feel at home already!

Anyway, thanks for the welcome - I'm looking forward to contributing.

The guitar hunt is over. I tried Eastmans, a Gretch, couple of Peerless - inc a Journeyman, and finally an Aria FA77. It beat them all hollow.
See this thread

Having returned home and tapped back into forum I'm pleased to see some die-hard fans of Aria on here.
