I just learned (chest swells with pride) that Paula Adbul has Canadian citizenship (her mother is from Winnepeg). |

O Canada! | Hey Jake, I was at your site......very very nice playing indeed!
I was at guitar workshop +, and had master class with Lorne Lofsky.
That was beyond real. His music is just too incredibly beautiful (and what a nice guy!) |

Ya know, in one's lifetime there are only a handful of movies that you always remember as an event.
This is one of them. |

| | Played a pro gig tonight after a 24 year hiatus
I started playing guitar at 11, and was playing in bars by 14 (back in 68). Then I kinda played almost every weekend till I was 31.
After that, I decided to go to back to school, and get a career going.
About ten years ago, I got back to music, as it is still a big part of my life.
After jamming with friends, and all that, i recently got invited by a pro outfit, to play.
As, my career is now winding down, i am planning to start playing in venues, and looking forward to do it much more when I retire.
I figure, I'm doing a full circle here (or getting to that).
Isn't life grand |

Lorne is awesome, he's such a class act and so fun to play with. People that dig that Ed Bickert style or are big fans of Bill Evans should really get to know what Lorne is up to on the axe, because he's really got it figured out.
Truth be known, he's awesome to hang out with as well. One of my favorite persons in the Canadian scene easily. |

| | thanks
Uh, back when that was recorded 2 years ago now (sigh needs to get album finished, stupid economy)
Yeah uh the guitar is the same as I use now, Gibson ES335 Dot reissue. hmmm the Amp on the session was a modified Fender HR Deluxe. The circuit board was removed and replaced with a point 2 point handmade one like they used to use and the speaker was also upgraded. It wasn't mine but I used it a lot (borrowed from friend who went to solid state amps for Jazz).
I use a Line 6 Echopark delay pedal and a Line6 Verbzilla (best pedal name ever) reverb. Thomastik 13 guage roundwound strings dunlop gator 2mm pick (ENDORSE ME DAMN IT) and my paws.
That would the gear. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
