Newbie! new to site

new guy here, have not played in better than 35 years , getting back to it, its slow , but very satifying. play a g&l tele, soapbar in the neck slot, really nice tone, and a les paul studio, (all i can afford) but nice enough. use , for now a small 25w fender. clean tone. trying to con my cousin out of a roland jc 120 i sold him 35 plus years ago. nice amp as i remember. been cruising this site, like all i see, lots of good info shared, thats nice for me, and most important no attitude/ego stuff. later

Welcome Freddy. The G&L is fine for jazz, many of us play teles in addition to archtops. I would forget about the JC120 though. Alot of time has passed and you have forgotten how heavy that thing is, and they all have a hissing problem. There are plenty of lighter and better alternatives these days.

yeah , you bring up some very good points regarding the jc120, i had forgotten about them. i might just rethink this one. with a limited musical bank account making every penny count is crucial, atleast for now. i'll keep to the forum section on gear ,re-read some of the opinions on other amps etc. thanks derek
