Newbie! Let me introduce myself

Hello everyone,

I like to introduce myself to you all here on this jazzguitarforum.
I'm a man of 45 years old and I play since a few years jazzguitar for hobby.
Unfortunatly not in a band but who knows what's to come in the near future...
I play on an Epiphone Emperor-N (that's the recent Joe Pass right now), an Epiphone Howard Roberts (with oval hole and singlecoil) and an Ibanez Artcore.
My amp is an Epiphone Blues Custom tube amp and my gear is an Zoom G2.1 + Boss Chorus CE2 + Dunlop wah Cry Baby.
My favourite strings on the Epi Emperor are 0.13 Thomastik flatwounds.
I like to play standards but I'm also interested in new jazz.
My favourit jazz musisians (on guitar) are Philip Catherine, Jesse van Ruller, Anton Goudsmit. My favourit of the old ones is Wes Montgomry, Grant Green. I also like player as Pat Metheney and soul guitarist Melvin Sparks.

I like to communicate with you about all kinds of items in jazzguitar.

Default Welcome!

Welcome to this forum, I'm quite new to the forum myself but have been playing guitar since the early sixties. Not exactly a jazz-guitarist but a blues-guitarist with influences from jazz. I want to learn more and hope to get some ideas about outside playing.

Happy New Year!
/Roland

Welcome gimp.
I regret not purchasing an Epiphone 'Howard Roberts'
new, when I had the chance. Hope you enjoy yours.
Am also a fan of TI flatwounds & 'Rope Cores.'

Well, I bought this guitar about 15 years ago.
Indeed they are not available nowadays. But if you have patience and some luck you can find them on secondhand markets for small prices.
It's a realy good guitar for it's price.
