Hello.
Being new I thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm thirty and have been playing guitar in a quite amateurish way for years and years. For a while I was without a guitar since I had other priorities, but then I got myself my beloved Epiphone LP, and now I'm back on track. Originally I played a lot of blues and blues rock (I usually say that Creedence, Clapton and Muddy taught me to play) by listening to records and playing along and checking online lessons.
But I've also always loved jazz, so I thought I'd give it a go. Whoah! It's intense. It's like you've suddenly discovered that what you thought was a moped was actually a spacecraft, if you know what I mean. It's a guitar, but it is capable of so. Much. More.
Now I'm trying to pick up anything I can, with emphazis on theory. It's what I've been lacking, and it's fun figuring out how stuff works, and fits together. Ironically, it means that my technique is lagging behind, but I'm working on that too now.
Anyway, this is a great site, I've been lurking around it a bit before deciding to join the forums. Hopefully, with a little work, I can contribute in some way instead of just leeching out answers from the veterans.
Hope to see you all around,
Mathias from Stockholm.
