Hi there. I'm new. Just joined last week.

Maybe some of you have expereinced what I'm going through right now.

MY folks are obviously trying to get me out of the basement. They turned the heat waaaaaay down and now I'm having trouble playing my chops.

Any suggestions for techniques I could employ to warm up my digits?

Welcome to the group. With regard to your living situation, I am guessing that paying some rent would help.

Maybe so. I keep telling my pops that he needs to cut me some slack so I can work on my chops but he's always saying. "You're my son. I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!"

Well, if he is bigger than you, or is weilding a bat, you might want to listen.

Funny, but this is actually a serious problem. I go through the same thing when I want to play with my amp turned up. I have to go down into the basement, but it's cold down there. My hands get cold and I lose dexterity.

Just do what I did and try an electric space heater - you can get them for as low as $27. They don't consume a bunch of power if you get a small one and just sit it on a chair blowing right at you or something.

We've got the same problem here - no central heating. Maybe you should go out running for 30 minutes, have a quick shower and practice afterwards. As for me, it works.

I like to run my hands under hot water for a couple minutes before I play in the winter. It always seems to do the trick for me. Just make sure you dry them enough afterwards or they freeze! Haha.
