Greetings Hello everyone.
I just signed up and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 44 years old and never picked up a guitar till my late 30's and only been practicing seriously for the last couple. I take lessons once a week and play at 2 very informal jams a week. I have mostly a blues,classic/southern rock, country background. My guitar instructor is a great jazz player and he's been trying to broaden my horizons, so to speak. Never really listened much to jazz till I picked up "Chasing The Sound" DVD about Les Paul and was blown away. Now I'm starting to learn "How High the Moon" and I'm starting to realize there is more out there than a 12 bar blues shuffle, not that there is anything wrong with it. At the moment I'm playing a Peavey t-60 and a Washburn HB-30 thru a Yamaha 2/12 combo and a Peavey 2/12 combo. Thanks for letting me ramble and I'm gonna go practice.
