Default New to Jazz Guitar

Hi All,
I'm new to the forum, I have been playing guitar for nearly 20 years. Mostly progressive rock, but have always played the standard blues, rock, hard rock, pop, top 40s, etc. Over the last 2 years I have been writing, recording, and performing live in a 2 piece. My the other half of the group is a singer/pianist who is a great jazz musician/singer. So naturally my influences have started to change, and my style has started to move more in that direction (as has hers moved toward mine). That being said, I am trying to get more grounded in he basics and start growing in that genre.

I figured this was a good place to do it.
Any advice anyone has to getting started, I am all ears
Thanks,

Welome,
Keep your mind open and your fingers will follow. Don't allow the genre to diminsh your personal style. What type of guitar do you play?

type as in hardware or style? Right now I play anything from a les paul, to a PRS, to ES-175 or an ES-137, my style is typically progressive rock, though I do play some blues and rock from time to time - it just works its way in naturally.

I have been reading up on Freddy Green - figuring this would be a good place to start for rhythm.

Is there a good starting point?
