Newbie! Hello - im new

Hi - im new to the forum, so as recommended ihave posted here - ill be brief as i imagine youve read many a 'im a newbie' posts

age - 37
guitar - fender strat (i know, its not a jazz guitar, but its got strings)
experience - 20 years of strumming in front of the tv and playing mainly blues scale, and thought id now better learn some theory, cant read music - havent the patience - i like theory though, as then i can do what i like

my first question would be:
One of my favourite cds is Miles Davis Bitches Brew - i like the John Mclouglin track - does anyone know which scale/mode they use - in fact the whole album has a certain feel to it, if anyone knows which scales they use throughout id love to know

if i am supposed to post this question in another place please do let me know

and finally - THIS IS A GREAT WEBSITE - i am humbled by your generosity in sharing knowledge - much respect to the founder and contributors - you are good people

djax

Welcome to the group. Would have to spend some time listening to the track you are talking about to answer the question. Do not know off the top of my head.
